How to Discontinue a Sales Item

In this tutorial, you will learn how to discontinue a sales item. Discontinued items are kept for historical and financial purposes, but are not available for sale from the shopping cart.

NOTE: Inventory items can only be discontinued with a quantity of 0.

Discontinue Single Item

  1. Setup | Sales Items
  2. Right-click item to discontinue
  3. Click Modify
  4. Make sure Quantity of item is 0.
  5. Toggle Discontinued checkbox under Item Options
  6. Click Save Changes

Discontinue Multiple Items

  1. Setup | Sales Items
  2. Click Quantity to sort items by Quantity on Hand. This will group together all items with a quantity of 0.

  3. Scroll right to find the Discontinued column.
  4. Below Discontinued, click “False” and change to “(All)”. This will display active and discontinued items.

  5. Move down the Discontinued column, toggling the checkbox for items to Discontinue.

  6. Once all desired items are discontinued, click Save Changes.
