CT-S651 – Windows XP


Click here to download the Citizen CT-S651 Printer Driver for both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions of Windows XP. The 64-bit version of Windows XP is extremely rare so you are most likely running a 32-bit version of Windows XP.

Printer Installation Procedure

  1. Download the driver file from the above link and save to your desktop.
  2. Double-click on this “” file that is located on your Windows Desktop.
  3. Left-click on the “Extract all files” option.
  4. Left-click on the “Extract” button. The will extract all of the files to a folder named “Driver-222E” on your Windows Desktop.
  5. Load the Citizen CT-S651 with 80mm thermal paper and turn it on.
  6. Plug the Citizen CT-S651 into your computer via a USB cable.
  7. Select “No, not this time” and click “Next”.
  8. Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”, and click “Next”.
  9. Select “Don’t Search. I will choose the driver to install”, and click “Next”.
  10. Select “Printers” as the “Hardware Type” and click “Next”.
  11. At the manufacturers window, click “Have Disk”.
  12. Click the “Browse” button in the lower-right corner of the “Install From Disk” window.
  13. Browse to the “Driver-222E” folder that you extracted to your Windows Desktop earlier in Step #4. If you are running 32-bit Windows XP (which is the most common version), select the 32bit(x86)CT-S651 folder. If you are running 64-bit Windows XP (which is extremely rare), select the 64bit(x64)CT-S651 folder.
  14. Select the “cts651.inf” file and click “Open”.
  15. Click “OK” on the “Install From Disk” window.
  16. On the manufacturer and model window, select the “CITIZEN CT-S651” and click “Next”.
  17. Click “Yes” to the “Update Driver Warning” prompt.
  18. Click “Continue Anyway” to the “Windows Logo testing” warning.
  19. Click “Finish” to the “Completed Installation” window.
  20. Restart the computer again to verify that the “Found New Hardware Wizard” does not reappear.

Cash Drawer Configuration

  1. Navigate to the Windows Control Panel and double-click on “Printers and Faxes”.
  2. Right-click on the “CITIZEN CT-S651” and select “Properties”.
  3. On the “General” tab, click on the “Printing Preferences” button.
  4. Click the “Advanced” button.
  5. Click the plus sign (+) next to “Printer Functions”. Also, click the plus sign (+) next to “Cash Drawer #1”.
  6. Click the “Open At:” option and change it from “Job End” to “Never”.
  7. Click “OK”.
  8. Click “OK” on the CITIZEN CT-S651 printing preferences window and then click “OK” on the “Properties” window.
  9. Close the Control Panel.

Configuring Printer in GolfNow Reservations

  1. Setup | Hardware
  2. Click Printers
  3. Click Receipt Tab
  4. Click CT-S651under Installed Printers
  5. Select Font as Standard
  6. Select Size as Standard
  7. Click OK

Troubleshooting Guide

Issue: The cash drawer kicks open twice on each transaction. It also opens on receipt reprints and cash closes.
Resolution: Verify that the “Open At:” setting in the “Cash Drawer Configuration” procedure is properly set to “Never” instead of “Job End”.
