CT-S651 – Ethernet

Configuring the printer on the network

NOTE: This procedure is done on one computer.

  1. Load the Citizen CT-S651 with 80mm thermal paper and turn it on.
  2. Plug the Citizen CT-S651 into a network switch or wall ethernet port using an Ethernet cable.
  3. Press the small white button on the network interface on the back of the Citizen CT-S651. It should print out a “I/F Board Information” slip on the receipt paper. Take note of the IP Address that is printed on the receipt slip.
    1. The top IP address you’ll use to navigate to the web based print server
    2. The bottom address is the local IP it should have received from the router.
  4. Open up a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, on a nearby computer.
    In the web address of your browser, enter the IP Address that is printed on the receipt slip from Step #3 and hit Enter on your keyboard. A Citizen “Print server homepage” should appear.
  5. Click on the “Print server configuration” link.
  6. At the bottom of this “Print server configuration” webpage, click on the “Edit” link.
    Under the “TCP/IP settings” section, make sure that “IP address from DHCP” is set to “Disable”.
  7. Under the “TCP/IP settings” section, change the last numbers of the “IP address” to 249 or other high numbered and available IP address on your network.
  8. Click on the “Register” button. The print server will automatically restart.
    Confirm that you can access the new “Print server homepage” by browsing to or your receipt printer’s applicable IP Address.

Printer Installation Procedure

  1. Download and Extract the above driver to your Windows Desktop.
  2. Double-click on this file that is located on your Windows Desktop.
  3. Left-click on the Extract all files option.
  4. Left-click on the Extract button. The will extract all of the files to a folder named Driver-222E on your Windows Desktop.
  5. Go to the Windows Control Panel and double-click on “Devices and Printers”.
  6. Click “Add a printer”.
  7. Click “Add a local printer”.
  8. Choose “Create a New Port”, and choose “Standard TCP/IP Port”. Click Next.
  9. Enter the IP Address defined in the “Print server homepage” in the “Hostname or IP address” field. Uncheck “Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use”. Click “Next”.
  10. Be patient while Windows searches for the printer on the network. This may take a few minutes.
  11. Under “Device Type”, select “Custom” and click the “Settings” button.
  12. In the “Port Number” field, enter 9100. Click “OK”.
  13. Click “Next”.
  14. Click on the “Have Disk” button.
  15. Left-click on the “Browse” button and browse to the Driver-222E folder that you extracted to your Windows Desktop earlier. If you are running 32-bit Windows, select the 32bit(x86)CT-S651 folder. If you are running 64-bit Windows, select the 64bit(x64)CT-S651 folder.
  16. Click on the “OK” button.
  17. Click on the “Next” button.
  18. On the “Type a printer name” window, enter “Kitchen” as the “Printer name” and then click on the “Next” button.
  19. If you are prompted that “Windows can’t verify the publisher of this driver software”, click “Install this driver software anyway”.
  20. Select “Do not share this printer” and click the “Next” button.
  21. Click the “Print a test page” button to verify that the printer has installed successfully. Make sure that “Set as the default printer” is not checked. Click the “Finish” button to complete the installation.

Setup Printer in GolfNow Reservations

  1. Setup | Hardware
  2. Click Printers
  3. Click Kitchen or Bar Tab
  4. Select Kitchen Printer or Bar Printer under Installed Printers
  5. Select Font as Standard
  6. Select Size as Standard
  7. Click OK

Reset CT-S651’s Network Interface Card Back to Factory Defaults

  1. Press and hold the button on the NIC card on the back of the CT-S651.
  2. Release the button after printer beeps once.
  3. Press and hold the button until the printer prints out the “I/F Board Information” slip.
  4. The print server will automatically restart.


Issue: When printing a test page, the printout is an endless stream of question marks and other unreadable characters.
Resolution: Go into the configurator software again, and change the Baud Rate to 9600.

Issue: Printer is installed but appears in Offline Mode.
Resolution: Install Citizen Port Monitor Utility
